Quieter Day

Yesterday the kids and I had a quieter day, exploring the Boat Lagoon Resort while Tim started his classes. I let the kids sleep in a bit (it had been a late night and a full day the day before) and then we had a late breakfast.

We checked out the resort bicycles and tooled around the lagoon. The kids and I had sooo much fun on the bicycles! There weren’t any bikes that were small enough for Duke, so he mostly rode behind me on my bike.

There’s a grocery store here that it is probably used mostly for provisioning the yachts that are here. To our Guam eyes, it was a lovely grocery store, with all kinds of exotic, beautiful produce. Tim raved about it to woman from Boston, and she was slightly horrified. From her perspective, the produce section was teeny. There’s nothing quite like living in Guam to make you appreciate things that you would normally take for granted!

We played in the pool for a while and then met Tim for dinner. We enjoyed comparing notes and getting caught up. Tim is really enjoying the free diving workshop, and he’s meeting all kinds of fascinating people from all over the world.

Today we’re going to meet up with a local guide and start exploring the rest of Phuket! More to come!

  1. What gorgeous and delightful photos! I also heard about mangosteen fruit being amazing in Thailand when in season… They look kinda like prehistoric persimmons. Curious if you come across some and try any…

Can Amelia bike around with Duke on the back? That’s incredible! Growing up so fast! What a wonderful trip so far!

  2. I tried to comment earlier but seem to have lost the comment… oh well. Here goes again!

Mangosteens are another fruit that are apparently super delicious in Thailand when they are in season. They look like prehistoric persimmons…

Love your action shots of Amelia and Duke! They really capture the mood and pace of their childhood and travel all wrapped up in one! They seem to really love traveling! This is amazing that you’re able to post so frequently so far!!!!! Loving it! But no pressure. 🙂

    1. Sorry about the double comments. For some reason it’s not recognizing you as a recurring commentor, so it’s asking me to approve all of your comments. You’re first one came in the middle of the night here, so I missed it. And yes, I am so thankful that Amelia and Duke are such good travelers! They seem to get the joy of travel, and tolerate the hassles of traveling very well! Thank goodness! We’ll keep an eye out for mangosteens. They sound amazing!
