20 Year Anniversary
This is an adventure that we’ve talked about and planned for months. The kids are all packed up and on Sunday they’ll take a bus up into the Rockies for a week-long sleep away camp. They’ll do rock climbing and camp fires and zip-lining and sing-alongs. It’s their first sleep-away camp and they’re a big jumble of excitement and nerves.
Meanwhile, Tim and I are on a flight to London right now for our own sleep-away camp. We signed up for a week at Oxford University, where we’ll take classes, live in the dorms and eat in the Christ Church dining hall. We’re celebrating our 20 year anniversary this week, and we couldn’t imagine any better way of celebrating than by going back to where we first met, and learning new things together.
When we land, we’ll have about 36 hours before we have to check in at Oxford. We plan to head back to Cambridge, where Tim lived when we first met (I lived a couple towns over in Newmarket – famous for horse racing). We’re planning to walk through town, eat at our favorite chippie (which is miraculously still there) and re-live some of our earliest memories as a couple.
Hopefully more to come soon!
Oh and I LOVE the building sketch!!!!!
Thanks, Chini!
Sounds so exciting! Happy anniversary. I remember fondly my trip to New Mexico and the beautiful wedding. One of my favorite things was the most delicious Japanese food we had at your house before the wedding that Tim’s parents lovingly prepared. There were hot air balloons on the drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe.
Enjoy this special time together.
Love and hugs,
Aunt Rhonda
That was some amazing food! It meant so much to share the day with so many of our favorite people!
